Port St. Lucie Pool Builders is a licensed and insured swimming pool contractor with over 15 years of experience designing, building, remodeling, and repairing pools for residential and commercial properties in Port St. Lucie, FL.

Our work covers new gunite and shotcrete pool construction, fiberglass pool installation, pool remodeling and renovation, resurfacing with pebble and quartz finishes, waterline tile and coping replacement, pool decking and hardscape, screen enclosures and pool cages, spa and hot tub installation, LED pool lighting, chemical automation, heat pumps and solar heating, variable-speed pumps with cartridge or DE filtration, saltwater chlorination, leak detection, green pool recovery, hurricane preparation and storm damage repair, weekly maintenance, safety barriers and covers, and commercial pool service.

We finish interiors in PebbleTec, pebble aggregate, quartz, and white plaster, set travertine coping and glass or porcelain waterline tile, and build sun shelves, raised spas with spillovers, and lap pools.

A Treasure Coast pool is used twelve months a year, and it is worked on by the weather for all twelve.

High summer humidity and daily afternoon storms dilute chemistry and dump organic load; sandy soil and a shallow water table mean an empty shell can float; a lot of homes west of the Turnpike run on well water with enough dissolved iron to stain a white interior orange within a season; and from June through November the whole coast is planning around named storms.

That is why we build with hydrostatic relief as standard, why we treat the screen enclosure as structural rather than decorative, and why every customer gets our hurricane checklist. Port St.

Lucie Pool Builders is licensed by the Florida DBPR Construction Industry Licensing Board, carries general liability and workers' compensation coverage, is bonded, and belongs to the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance. Every build, remodel, and resurface is backed by a written workmanship warranty, and the estimate costs you nothing.

About Port St. Lucie Pool Builders in Port St. Lucie, FL

Port St. Lucie Pool Builders has spent over 15 years designing, building, and maintaining swimming pools across St. Lucie, Martin, and Indian River counties. We learned this trade on a coast where the ground is sand, the water table is close, the sun runs twelve months a year, and hurricane season reorganises everyone's calendar from June through November.

All of that shows up in how we build: hydrostatic relief as standard, enclosures engineered rather than assembled, and equipment specified for a season that never stops.

Today we handle custom backyard gunite pools, screen enclosures and pool cages, full remodels, and commercial work for oceanfront hotels, condo and HOA communities, golf and RV resorts, and gyms from Jupiter to Vero Beach. We run every project with our own crews rather than handing your yard to a subcontractor you have never met.

We are licensed by the Florida DBPR Construction Industry Licensing Board, carry general liability and workers' compensation coverage, are bonded, and are members of the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance, and every construction, remodel, and resurfacing project carries a written workmanship warranty.

We will also tell you when not to spend money, which is not the industry standard around here. If your orange staining is a well-water iron problem rather than a worn finish, we will treat the stains for a fraction of a resurface and tell you how to keep them away.

If your cage needs three panels rather than a rebuild, that is what we quote. And every customer gets our hurricane-season checklist whether they are on our service route or not. From new construction and enclosures to resurfacing, decking, leak detection, storm repair, and weekly maintenance, we are one number to call, and the estimate is always free.

Our Pool Services in Port St. Lucie, FL

Gunite & Shotcrete Pool Construction in Port St. Lucie, FL

Gunite & Shotcrete Pool Construction

Gunite pool construction in Port St. Lucie is a sprayed concrete shell over an engineered steel cage, and on the Treasure Coast it is also a groundwater and corrosion problem to solve.

Fiberglass Pool Installation in Port St. Lucie, FL

Fiberglass Pool Installation

Fiberglass pool installation in Port St. Lucie puts a finished one-piece shell in the ground in a fraction of the time a gunite build takes, and in a climate where algae never gets a winter off, the non-porous gelcoat surface is a genuine advantage.

Screen Enclosures & Pool Cages in Port St. Lucie, FL

Screen Enclosures & Pool Cages

Screen enclosure and pool cage construction in Port St. Lucie is engineered aluminium structure work, not bug-screen assembly, and on the Treasure Coast a cage has to be designed and permitted for county wind loads.

Pool Remodeling & Renovation in Port St. Lucie, FL

Pool Remodeling & Renovation

Pool remodeling in Port St. Lucie brings a dated but structurally sound pool back to life for a fraction of what a new build costs, and we quote it in layers so you decide exactly where to stop.

Pool Resurfacing & Replastering in Port St. Lucie, FL

Pool Resurfacing & Replastering

Pool resurfacing and replastering in Port St. Lucie replaces the worn interior that makes an older pool feel rough underfoot and look permanently stained, and here the first job is working out whether you need a resurface at all or just a proper stain treatment.

Waterline Tile & Coping Replacement in Port St. Lucie, FL

Waterline Tile & Coping Replacement

Waterline tile and coping replacement in Port St. Lucie is the cheapest way to make an ordinary pool look renovated, because those two bands are the only part of the pool most people ever look at from a standing position.

Pool Decking & Hardscape in Port St. Lucie, FL

Pool Decking & Hardscape

Pool decking and hardscape in Port St. Lucie covers travertine, pavers, stamped concrete, knockdown texture overlays, drainage, seat walls, and outdoor kitchens, and on the Treasure Coast the two things that decide the right choice are heat underfoot and grip when wet.

Spa & Hot Tub Installation in Port St. Lucie, FL

Spa & Hot Tub Installation

Spa and hot tub installation in Port St. Lucie comes down to two routes: an attached gunite spa built into the pool with a spillover, or a standalone acrylic tub on a pad with its own 240-volt circuit.

Pool Lighting & LED Upgrades in Port St. Lucie, FL

Pool Lighting & LED Upgrades

LED pool lighting in Port St. Lucie is the best value upgrade in this trade, and in a climate where evening is the most comfortable time to be outside for half the year, it is also the upgrade that changes how much the pool gets used.

Pool Automation & Smart Controls in Port St. Lucie, FL

Pool Automation & Smart Controls

Pool automation in Port St. Lucie replaces the mechanical timer that loses an hour every month with a controller you run from your phone, and for the very large number of Treasure Coast homes that sit empty for months while owners are north, remote monitoring is the feature that pays for the whole system.

Pool Heat Pumps & Solar Heating in Port St. Lucie, FL

Pool Heat Pumps & Solar Heating

Pool heat pumps and solar heating in Port St. Lucie extend a swim season that is already long into one that is genuinely year-round, and on the Treasure Coast a heat pump is almost always the right answer rather than gas.

Variable-Speed Pumps & Filtration in Port St. Lucie, FL

How It Works

  1. 1. Design and quote. We come out, measure the lot, check setbacks, easements, and HOA rules, and design the pool and cage together in 3D. Designing the enclosure after the pool is how you end up with a cage that fits nothing properly.
  2. 2. Permits and excavation. We pull permits through the City of Port St. Lucie, St. Lucie County, or Martin County, plan for the water table, handle the dig and the steel, and meet the inspectors on schedule.
  3. 3. Shotcrete, tile, and finishes. Steel cage, shotcrete shell, plumbing, tile, coping, interior finish, and decking. Hydrostatic relief valves go in as standard, and any enclosure is engineered to the county wind-load requirements.
  4. 4. Fill, start-up, and handoff. We fill it, run the 28-day plaster start-up, balance the chemistry, and walk you through the equipment pad and your hurricane-season checklist before we hand over the keys.

What Port St. Lucie Customers Say

★★★★★
Two companies told me the orange staining meant I needed a resurface. These guys tested my well water, treated the iron, and the pool looks new. Saved me somewhere north of twelve thousand dollars.
Sandra P. · Jensen Beach
★★★★★
New pool and cage designed together, which apparently is not what everyone does. Footings poured with the deck, everything lined up, and the enclosure came through last season without losing a panel.
Rick M. · Stuart
★★★★★
We are north from May to October and they send a photo and a full report every week. Caught a leaking skimmer in July while we were gone and fixed it before it undermined the deck.
Angela C. · Fort Pierce
★★★★★
Talked me out of draining before a storm and explained exactly why. Came back after, cleared the debris, checked the electrical before switching anything on, and had it swimmable in three days.
Tom W. · Palm City

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a new pool cost in Port St. Lucie?

Most inground gunite pools on the Treasure Coast land between the mid $50,000s and the low $100,000s depending on size, interior finish, decking area, and features like a raised spa or sun shelf.

A screen enclosure is a separate and substantial line item, frequently in the five figures for a full cage, because it is an engineered structure rated for county wind loads rather than a bug screen. We quote the pool and the cage separately and clearly so you can see both.

Do I really need a screen enclosure?

Not legally, but most Treasure Coast owners end up wanting one. A cage keeps out mosquitoes and no-see-ums, cuts the leaf and pollen load that drives algae and skimming time, blocks a meaningful share of UV so the water heats more slowly in August, and reduces evaporation. The trade-offs are cost, some loss of direct sun in winter, and panel replacement after a serious storm. We will lay out both sides rather than sell you one automatically.

Should I drain my pool before a hurricane?

No, and this is the most expensive myth in Florida pool ownership. Sandy soil and a shallow water table mean an empty or partly empty shell can lift and crack when the ground saturates, and the water in your pool is holding it down and protecting the finish from debris.

Lower it a foot at most if heavy rain is forecast, shut off and if possible elevate the equipment, super-chlorinate ahead of the storm, and bring the furniture inside rather than throwing it in the water.

Why is my pool staining orange or brown?

Almost always iron, and almost always well water. A lot of properties west of Florida's Turnpike top up from a well, and dissolved iron oxidises the moment it meets chlorine, plating rust-coloured stains onto a white interior. It can look like a resurface is needed when it is not.

We test the fill water, treat the stains with the right sequestrant or ascorbic acid process rather than a generic stain remover, and set up a pre-filter or sequestrant routine so it does not come straight back.

How long does a pool build take on the Treasure Coast?

Budget 8 to 12 weeks of construction once we break ground, plus 4 to 8 weeks up front for design, engineering, and permitting through the City of Port St. Lucie, St. Lucie County, or Martin County. A screen enclosure adds its own engineering and permit cycle. Resurfaces run 1 to 3 weeks, and a full remodel with tile, coping, and decking usually takes 3 to 5 weeks.

Will you service a pool you did not build?

Yes, and most of our service customers are exactly that. We take over weekly maintenance, repairs, leak detection, resurfacing, cage repairs, and full remodels on any pool from Jupiter to Vero Beach. The one time we say no is when a shell has failed structurally beyond economical repair, and we will tell you that plainly rather than sell you a resurface that cracks again in two years.
